4 Ideas to Recharge Your Morning
We came up with some ideas to freshen up your morning routine and start off each day of 2021 on the right foot – no matter what’s going on in the world around you. Here are four simple ideas to build a healthy morning routine you love:
1. Minimize your morning choices
If mornings always feel a little hurried and stressful, try to cut back on the choices you have to make each morning. Lay out your clothes the night before. Have a make-ahead breakfast ready to go in the fridge. Even something as simple as knowing exactly when you need to leave the house can cut back on stress and add some peace to your mornings.
2. Try a coffee alternative
Hear us out. If you love coffee as much as we do, we’re not suggesting you give up your morning cup. But for the non-coffee lovers or those looking to cut back on caffeine, coffee alternatives can be a centering – not to mention tasty – part of your morning routine. You get the mental benefits of brewing and enjoying a warm drink and the health benefits of your herbs, spices, or tea of choice. Some great-tasting coffee alternatives include MUD/WTR, Four Sigmatic (both are earthy and mushroom-based) Golde (turmeric golden lattes) and Fake Coffee by Alfred (chicory and cacao-based).
3. Brew and sip mindfully
Whatever you drink in the morning, strive to be present and grateful as you brew – even if that process is as simple as popping a pod into your Keurig. When we build time for gratitude and mindfulness into the routine we already have, we’re more likely to stick with it. If you love the idea of slow, leisurely sipping but hate lukewarm coffee, try the Ember temperature control coffee mug. No matter how slowly you finish off that cup, every sip will be your ideal temperature.
4. Drink your coffee on a morning walk
If you want to knock out a few items all at once, fill up that Ember Travel Mug² and drink your coffee on a morning walk. You’ll get your morning sunshine, a chance to move your body, and some time to enjoy a warm drink relatively distraction free. This combo also helps you stay motivated to start your day with some light exercise. You may not stick with a daily walk on its own, but add a warm cup of coffee? It just might become your favorite part of the day.
